ReDAQ® Freedom SCADA for 5B IsoLynx® (SLX200)
Dataforth Corporation has developed ReDAQ® Freedom software to complement the company’s isoLynx® SLX200 data acquisition system. Combined with one or more isoLynx® SLX200 systems, ReDAQ® Freedom software provides a total solution for factory automation, process control, test and measurement, machine control, and data acquisition applications.

Establishing a complete automation or test system with ReDAQ® Freedom is exceptionally simple. The core software runs under Windows. This sets up the central server, which can connect to many isoLynx® SLX200 units via one or more networks. The networks can be RS-485 or dedicated Ethernets, or a combination of the two. Users then access the system via an Intranet or the Internet. No application software is required because the HMI is delivered via Web browsers. Dynamic real-time graphical displays are generated on the Web pages by the ReDAQ® Freedom-Designer, which generates Java applets.

Being browser-based means that remote control and monitoring are readily achieved. The administrator easily creates an I/O Website using the ReDAQ® Freedom-Designer. The ReDAQ® Freedom-Designer allows dynamic real-time graphical objects such as pie charts, histograms, graphs, and mimics to be created using a graphical user interface. When viewed in the users’ browsers, these graphical displays respond in real-time to external signals. The input data to the graphics comes from the Dataforth SCM5B isolated analog signal conditioning modules that are inserted in the isoLynx® SLX200 units.

A lossless data historian is built into ReDAQ® Freedom. The historian runs automatically and continuously captures data at regular intervals. This historized data then can be used to generate history tables or graphs.

ReDAQ® Freedom also provides for the exchange of current and historical data with other applications via XML. In addition, users can create Excel spreadsheets using current and historical data.

ReDAQ® Shape
ReDAQ® Shape, Dataforth’s out-of-the-box DAQ software for the SLX300, provides the easiest and most efficient development tool to create, save, and open graphical user interface projects as well as to test, process, and analyze acquired data. Built-in functions in the Acquire and Analyze panels can be used without setup and configuration. Just three easy steps are required to create customized Presentation panels using 18 high quality controls and powerful isoLynx® SLX300 functions. ReDAQ® Shape also provides the most effective way to set up and configure the 8B isoLynx® SLX300 functions. The software controls are easily used to create, move, re-size, cut, copy, paste, and delete; they also support any graphical file format so presentations made with other software can be loaded into ReDAQ® Shape.

In contrast to other graphical software environments, ReDAQ® Shape SLX300 software has a very short user-learning curve. It was created using programming tools incorporated from Microsoft Visual Studio® and National Instruments Measurement Studio™, ensuring its integrated, across-the-board applicability.

WINDAQ®/Lite (Included with each SLX718)
Provides a ready-to-run, no programming environment for acquiring, displaying, recording, reviewing, analyzing, and exporting waveform information for PC-tethered or standalone configurations. Limited to 1,108Hz throughput to disk.

WINDAQ®/HS (Upgrade with full license)
Similar to WINDAQ®/Lite except allows throughput to disk rates of 4,800Hz

WINDAQ®/XL (Low-cost add-on)
Real-time data logging to Microsoft Excel spreadsheets

WINDAQ® Recording Software:
Channel Setup Double-click and enter the channels you want to add to the WINDAQ® scan list. Click to select gain, signal averaging, true RMS, frequency, and peak or valley detection per channel. Click to define a single to 8-channel display - either triggered sweep (oscilloscope-like) or scrolling (chart recorder-like). Click again to define a sample rate ranging from less than one up to 14,400 per second. With WINDAQ®/HS you can also define different sample rates on a per channel basis.

WINDAQ® Playback and Export Software
  • Playback: Recording is only half the solution. WINDAQ®'s Waveform Browser playback software allows you to graphically manipulate waveforms in a variety of ways. Compress an entire recording to one screen-width for a bird's eye view; then expand around an area of interest for a closer look. Use the cursor to measure amplitudes and timing with precision, or move to any event marker with the click of a mouse button.
  • Export: The WINDAQ® Waveform Browser can export any range of data to your spreadsheet or to any other analysis or presentation package. You can copy a graphical image displayed by the WINDAQ® Waveform Browser and paste it directly into a word processing document. You also can export any range of waveform graphics to your printer for a hard copy record.
