Embedded Firmware Design Engineer | Bare-Metal Mastery
The Challenge

You will architect the deterministic, real-time intelligence that powers Dataforth's Data Acquisition Systems and smart modules. In our world, latency isn't an annoyance - it's a mission-critical parameter.

The Challenge:
The Dataforth's manufacturing floor is an extension of Dataforth's engineering lab. Dataforth is seeking a Production Support Engineer to serve as the guardian of Dataforth's Instrument Class® quality. This isn't a maintenance role - this is a systems engineering role. You will design, maintain, and evolve the sophisticated production test heads and software that ensure Dataforth products are flawless before they reach the customer.

Senior Engineering & Test Systems Technician
The Mission
Dataforth's products are only as good as the systems that test and support them. Dataforth is seeking a Senior Engineering & Test Systems Technician to serve as the primary right hand to Dataforth's Design Engineering staff.
In this role, you won't just follow instructions - you will proactively manage the lifecycle of Dataforth's hardware, from initial EMC characterization in the lab to the deep-dive troubleshooting of complex failures on the manufacturing floor.

- You will have significant responsibilities for maintaining the integrity of Dataforth's Instrument Class® production environment.
- You will be managing and maintaining legacy test fixtures and ensuring newest designs are ready for the global market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Engineering Support: Assist Analgo and Embedded designers with precision prototyping, PCB modifications (fine-pitch soldering), and complex breadboarding.
- EMC & Compliance Testing: Support the Engineering team during Electromagnetic Comparability (EMC) and environmental testing. Setup, execute, and document test runs to ensure compliance with global industrial standards.
- Manufacturing Failure Analysis: Act as the "detective" on the production floor. Characterize and troubleshoot complex product failures to the component level, identifying whether issues stem from components, design, or process.
- Test Fixture Stewardship: Maintain and repair both legacy and next-generation production test heads and fixtures. Ensure all electo-mechanical jigs are calibrated and performing at peak reliability.
- Data and Software Maintenance: Support the maintenance of production test software and databases. Ensure test results are accurately captured and that software updates are deployed across the manufacturing floor without downtime.
What you bring to the table:
- Education: An Associate's Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (ASEET) or a BSEE. Dataforth prioritizes candidates with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and a demonstrated passion for electronics.
- Technical Mastery: 5+ years of experience in a high-precision electronics environment. You must be an expert with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and precision DMMs.
- Software Savvy: Experience or familiarity with test software and basic database management.
- Independence: You are a self-motivated professional who doesn't need a daily checklist. You see a problem, you analyze it, and you fix it.
- The Dataforth Precision Mindset: You understand that in Instrument Class® electronics, there is no room for "close enough".
