Product Test Engineer

Dataforth Corporation is a privately held technology company that designs and manufactures signal conditioning, data acquisition, and industrial process control products. Rigorous design, manufacturing, and test efforts result in products known worldwide for performance and reliability. The work environment has design engineers involved in all aspects of product development from inception through volume production. Our staff has many decades of analog circuit design and product test development experience. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join the team and implement next generation product test and product line enhancements.

Design Responsibilities
  • Develop next generation test solutions for existing product line production test
  • Work with design engineers to develop production test for new products
  • Implement product design enhancements for performance and yield improvement
  • Design wiring harnesses and cable assemblies
  • Employ safety mechanisms where hazardous potentials are present during test
  • Maintain and update existing in-house designed and OTS automated test equipment
  • Maintain and update automated test equipment source code and test databases
  • Develop automated test solutions for existing manual test operations
  • Guide mechanical design and assembly of fixtures using in-house and external resources
Skills, Experience & Education
  • Proven record of successful production test development and support
  • Working knowledge of analog and digital circuits
  • Fluent with development tools including oscilloscopes, DVMs, signal generators, DASs
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting and software debugging skills
  • Familiarity with CAD schematic capture and pcb layout
  • Mechanical assembly skills, soldering, power tools usage, wiring
  • Proficiency coding in modern and legacy languages: Python, C, VB.net, VB6
  • Demonstrated good coding practices and code documentation, usage of version control
  • 3+ years of experience developing, deploying, and maintaining product test
  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering

Electrical Engineer

  • Assist design engineers in developing production test for new products
  • Develop automated test solutions for existing manual test operations
  • Guide mechanical design and assembly of fixtures using in-house and external resources
  • Design and build wiring harnesses and cable assemblies
  • Learn existing in-house designed and OTS automated test equipment
  • Learn existing automated test equipment source code and test databases
Skills, Experience & Education
  • Proven record of product design support and production test development and support
  • In-depth knowledge of analog and digital circuits
  • Fluent with oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, high voltage supplies
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting skills, software debugging skills
  • Experience with CAD schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Mechanical assembly skills, soldering, wiring, power tools
  • Proficiency with modern and legacy coding languages
  • Demonstrated coding practices and code documentation
  • 3+ years of experience involving the activities listed above
  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering
