Job Description
Dataforth, a worldwide leader in Instrument Class Industrial Electronics, seeks a full-time Firmware Development Engineer to join our engineering staff in Tucson, Arizona.

Responsibilities
  • Firmware development for products using small to mid-range microcontrollers and SoCs
  • Development of modern solutions for Factory Automation and SCADA
  • Utilize hardware technology advances to develop optimal solutions for Test & Measurement
  • Production test specification and development
  • Product design involvement from inception through volume production
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum BSEE, BSCE, or BSCS
  • Proficiency with embedded development and debug tools
  • Fluent in coding practices, code documentation, and version control
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum two years experience in product design and development
  • Advanced engineering degree, MSEE, MSCE, BSCS
  • Design experience with microcontrollers and peripherals
  • Wireless communications and mobile application development experience

Job Description
Dataforth Corporation is seeking a Systems Engineer (Product Definer) to join our Sales & Marketing team. Product Definer and Systems Engineers possess detailed knowledge of the company products and customer applications in order to provide essential support to customers worldwide, identify new product needs, and create new product definitions. This role will report to the Sales & Marketing manager.

Job Responsibilities
  • Developing a deep understanding of the signal conditioning and data acquisition market
  • Research new product ideas and create new product definitions, including developing business case proposals and product strategies
  • Analyze key applications in various industries such as but not limited to automotive, aerospace, industrial, consumer and computing spaces to identify future trends, identifying opportunities for improving performance, and adding value to these applications
  • Assess and negotiate development tradeoffs with design team and customers
  • Build relationships with customers & sales channel teams by closely interacting with them to identify and solve customer problems with Dataforth solutions
  • Support and train sales organizations on new & existing products
  • Relentlessly drive new design wins for new and existing products
  • Bring quick solutions to customer problems by interfacing across different functional groups such as application support, design, production, test, marketing and sales
  • Assist with generating the revenue plan for the organization
  • Create technical literature such as but not limited to datasheets, application notes, user's guides, etc.
Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of sensors, signal conditioning, and data acquisition applications
  • Experience promoting/marketing electronic components and driving design wins
  • Good listener and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with lab equipment
Preferred qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of sensors, signal conditioning, and data acquisition systems
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in translating customer requirements into new product ideas
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions worldwide
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong customer facing skills
